Happy New Year and we hope that you had a great holiday season. I know that we did and are truly blessed to have such amazing family and friends.
2010 was such an amazing year for us but I have a feeling 2011 is going to top it! Jordan and I have so much to be thankful for from 2010 and our Christmas card that we sent pretty much sums up our year. Here is a snap shot of what we are looking forward to in 2011:
New Jobs - Jordan started his new job in September and I did do too but it wasn't what I wanted so I took some time off. My goal was to have a new job before the end of 2010 and guess what I made it! I received and accepted a job offer from Best Buy Corporate last week! I am very excited about this opportunity! Wish me luck as I start tomorrow :)
Jamaica - Jordan and I are looking forward to our first tropical vacation in almost 5 years (yikes). We are heading to Montego Bay, Jamaica in March with Mollie and Karl! We are so excited and have vowed to go on a tropical vacation every 2 years.
Date night- Now that Carter is older Jordan and I are going to start having date night once a week. We feel this is very important for us as a couple and as parents.
Carter Thomas - Carter is our #1 priority in 2011 and always is and will be but we are looking forward to watching him grow, learn, and turn into a person. OH yeah and he turns 2 this year. He has blessed us in so many ways.
Iowa - looking forward to having family and friends visit us and us visit them.
Weddings - We have several good friends getting married this summer.
Babies - Friends and hopefully sisters, and who knows maybe even us will be having babies (this is a BIG maybe) or making announcements :)
We had a fantastic Christmas and were able to spend 6 days in Iowa. They were jammed packed but well worth it! Carter of course was spoiled by everyone. He even got the hang of opening his presents but was more interested in riping off the paper or playing with the boxes than the actual gift. But I have a feeling he will have the hang of it by his birthday in September. It was great watching him interact with his 3 cousins they all get a long so well. He misses them already.
What is new with Carter... his 15 month wellness appointment is next week and his tube follow up appointment is tomorrow so we will have details on that next time. But I must say that his sleeping has 110% improved (we really think the tubes have a lot to do with this). Carter is now sleeping a minimum of 11 hours STRAIGHT at night in his crib! We are so excited. He goes down with out a fight. He also has said good bye to the boob! Weaning went great (better than expected for sure) and I must say that I am proud of myself for breastfeeding him this long. Not many mothers do this anymore. As hard as breastfeeding was/is I never gave up because I wanted my son to have the best nutrients possible. Rock on to all you BF moms out there!
Three of Carter's molars have come through the skin with the fourth bulging. This makes a total of 11 teeth.
I have included a couple of pictures from the holidays but all of the good ones are on the video camera and Jordan needs to upload those. Maybe next time.
